Waterdrop Cambodia Visit 2016
Fifteen volunteers, one shared purpose – Solving water for schools
In November 2016, a team of fifteen Waterdrop volunteers from France, Germany and UK – Xylem employees and partners – reached out to Cambodia to help improve the local water supply by building water towers for elementary schools in a Xylem Watermark project. The schools were located near Siem Reap, in Roka Village, Antit Sok and Chhouk Sar Village. During the one-week trip, the volunteers constructed a total of three water towers together with Planet Water, bringing fresh, clean water to approx. 1,000 students and teachers the communities around, also doing clean water educations. The towers deliver since then clean water for up to 3,000 people – or 30,000 liters – every day.
